Slide rail – model 0566, grey

PRIMO’s slide rail is used as a running rail at the bottom of cupboards, doors or windows, where glass or doors need to be able to slide back and forth. The rail is designed for secondary glazing and is typically used in conjunction with profile 0567, which is fitted at the top and acts as a guide rail.

The slide rail – also known as a sliding glass strip – is made from hard-wearing plastic and has a precise fit that ensures stable and quiet movement of the glass or doors. As well as for secondary glazing, it is also frequently used at the top and bottom of sliding doors on cupboards, display cabinets and lightweight sliding doors.

The rail is easy to work with and can be fixed in several ways without the risk of it splitting.

The slide rail is fitted directly to the surface at the bottom of the workpiece where the sliding function is required. It can be nailed, stapled or glued – depending on the material and your preferences.

Here’s how:

Measure the length of the area where the slide rail is to be fitted and cut the rail to size if necessary.
Clean the surface to remove dust and grease.
Secure the slide rail:
- When stapling/nailing: Use small nails or staples and secure the rail at regular intervals, typically every 10–15 cm.
- If using adhesive: Use an alcohol-based silicone or a suitable mounting adhesive. Apply the adhesive in a thin line along the rail and press it firmly onto the surface.
If necessary, allow the adhesive to cure in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions before use.
Then fit the top piece (profile 0567) and insert the glass or door.

Tip: When using in window frames or for glass installation, it is recommended that you check the thickness of the glass and ensure that both the top and bottom profiles are suitable for the material.
