PRIMO’s non-welded sealing is recommended for replacing old weatherstripping, primarily in wooden windows and doors where new alternative methods cannot be used. The welding method is outdated, and since there are now more flexible and less demanding installation methods available, we recommend switching to a clip-on weatherstripping strip. PRIMO 6307 is a new combination strip based on the latest knowledge in sealing, but of course only if it is possible.

PRIMO’s selection of sealing strips is broad and varied, offering a solution for every purpose and need. A large portion of the sealing strips are made of TPE, which—in addition to being PVC-free—can withstand all types of weather conditions and therefore has a long service life while maintaining the same high standard—even when used outdoors.

When installing welded sealing strips, precision is essential to achieve a tight and durable solution. Cut the strips at a 45-degree angle and weld them together so they fit precisely in the corners. Then, install the strip into the groove and press it into place—using a roller, if necessary, which you can find under “Sealing Strip Accessories.”

Here’s how to do it—step by step:
1. Cut the weatherstrip at a 45-degree angle for the corner joints.
2. Weld the corners together so they form a tight and uniform transition.
3. Place the weatherstrip in the corner and gently press it into the groove.
4. If necessary, use a roller tool to ensure the strip is seated correctly and evenly.
5. Check that the seal isn’t completely compressed when the door or window is closed—it needs room to spring back.

Remember: A properly installed seal retains its shape and function longer and ensures optimal sealing over time.
